# Review

> Drop a prepared filing and get back a report of every issue Lex finds

## What it is

Some filings arrive already prepared: the USCIS forms are filled, the evidence is gathered, and there's no intake to run. **Review** is for those. Drop the whole bundle, and Lex checks it the way a careful senior paralegal would, then hands you a report of what it found.

Review only reports issues. Nothing in the bundle is edited, refilled or filed, and you don't need a client or a case in Lexfill first.

## Starting a review

Open **Review** in the sidebar (under **Firm**), or choose **Create → Review**. Each review is a workspace for one bundle.

1. **Drop the files.** Forms, evidence and prior filings all belong in the bundle: PDFs, Word documents, text files and images, up to 50 MB each and 60 files (250 MB) per review. Each file shows its upload progress. A file that doesn't make it offers **Retry** or **Upload again**.
2. **Set it up (optional).** Give the review a name. Pick a **case type**, or leave it on *Let Lex infer*. When you declare one, Lex also checks the bundle against that case type's checklist. The **brief** is where you say what the filing is and who is who, for example "I-130 for Maria Lopez (petitioner) and her husband Omar (beneficiary)". Lex reads it before it opens the bundle.
3. **Run the review.** The button unlocks once at least one file is uploaded. Files that didn't finish uploading are skipped and listed in the report.

Reviews belong to your firm, so everyone on your team can open them.

## What Lex checks

Every run starts with checks that need no AI and finish in seconds:

* **Form editions.** Lexfill spots a USCIS form and compares its edition date with the current edition. An outdated edition is a **critical** finding. A form with no readable edition date gets an info note.
* **Blank required answers.** On a filled, fillable form, every required field left blank is listed, one finding per form.
* **Readability.** A PDF that's encrypted, corrupt or can't be opened is flagged, because nothing inside it can be checked.

Then Lex reads the bundle itself and looks for:

* **Consistency.** A name, date or A-Number that differs between forms and evidence, histories that don't line up, and facts that should never change but do.
* **Completeness.** Evidence the case type calls for that isn't in the bundle.
* **Evidence quality.** Evidence that doesn't support what it's offered for: an expired document, an illegible scan, a document about someone else, or a photocopy where an original or certified copy is required.
* **Form validity.** Anything else about a form that would stop it being accepted.

Where it helps, Lex can check official government sources, such as a USCIS form page, to confirm a current edition. It only reads a short list of official sites.

  Everything in the bundle is treated as material to review, never as instructions. A document that tries to tell Lex what to do can't change what the review does.

## Reading the run page

While the review runs, the page shows:

* **What's happening.** *Queued* means it's waiting for a reviewer to pick it up. *Running* means Lex is working. *Waiting for a slot* means other reviews are running and this one resumes on its own. A long step can leave the page quiet for a minute or two, which doesn't mean it has stalled.
* **Activity.** Each step Lex takes, with the file it was working on.
* **Findings as they arrive.** You don't have to wait for the end. Findings from the automatic checks show up first.

You can leave the page. You'll get a notification when the review finishes or fails.

When the run finishes, the page shows a **summary**: finding counts by severity, Lex's overall verdict, the case type it worked to (marked *Declared* or *Inferred by Lex*), and the parties it identified. Below that are the **findings**, grouped by category and worst first:

Use the severity chips to narrow the list. Each finding names the files it's about, with page numbers and the form fields involved where they apply. Findings marked **Auto-check** come from the checks that need no AI.

Findings are written in English, even when your console is set to another language.

### When a review is cut short

Every review has limits on time, steps and cost. If Lex reaches one before it has worked through the whole bundle, the review still finishes with a report, and the summary says it was **cut short**. The findings it reports are real, but the bundle wasn't reviewed end to end.

### Cancelling

**Cancel run** stops a review that's queued or running. A running review stops at Lex's next step, which can take up to a minute, and shows *Cancelling…* until it does. A cancelled review has no report, but any findings recorded before it stopped are kept.

## The PDF report

**Download report** saves the review as a PDF. It has:

* a cover page,
* the summary,
* every finding with its cited files, pages and fields,
* an appendix listing each file reviewed with its detected form and edition,
* an appendix on how the review ran, including whether it was cut short.

A review with no findings gets a "no issues found" page.

The report is AI-assisted and is a first pass. You're still responsible for checking every item, and a missing finding doesn't mean a filing is complete or correct. Reports are in English.

## Running it again

After you fix the bundle, press **Run again**. The page goes back to set-up with your files still there, so you can replace a file, add evidence or change the brief, then run the review again. Each run is kept as its own version, and the page always shows the latest one.

To remove a review with all its files, runs and reports, use **Delete**. You can't delete a review while it's running.
