1. Create your account
Sign up at app.lexfill.ai. Lexfill is passwordless — you sign in with a secure link sent to your email, so there’s no password to manage. During onboarding you’ll set up your firm — name, details, and optionally your logo and brand colors, which are applied to everything your clients see.2. Invite your team
From Settings → Team, invite colleagues by email. Teammates get a trimmed onboarding flow and join your firm’s shared workspace — every member of the firm can see and act on all clients and matters. Firms that want a shorthand for “the paralegals” or “the H-1B team” can name a member group on Settings → Member groups and grant it access in one move — see Member groups.3. Add a client and start a matter
- Create a client from the console.
- Choose the case type and form (for example, I-485).
- Send the intake link — clients don’t need an account to start; the link is secure and expires after 7 days.
Moving an existing matter in? Choose Upload documents on New client
instead. Drop in the passports, green cards, and worksheets you already hold —
Lex reads them and proposes the client’s identity and case type for you to
confirm, and your client is never contacted. See Import an existing
matter.
4. Put Lex to work
Open the Desk and ask a question the way you’d ask a person — “what’s at risk before the end of the month?”, “bring me up to speed on my newest client”. Lex reads your firm’s actual records before answering. Link a conversation to a matter and the skills open up:/brief for a full case briefing, /gaps for what’s still missing before filing, /checklist for document status with a drafted chase message, /packet to assemble the filing packet.
Everything Lex produces comes to you first — a document you edit and export, or a client message you send once it reads right.
5. Review and file
When the client completes their intake, AI review runs automatically and raises anything a careful attorney would double-check. From there:- Work its findings on the Forms tab — each one a comment thread pinned to the field it questions, which you reply to, ask @Lex about, and resolve.
- Approve or reject uploads on the Documents tab.
- Assemble the filing packet on the Packet tab, resolve its findings, and download one merged PDF.
